Roemer Insurance Names Barbara Sears New Manager

Toledo, Ohio, Jan. 17, 2012 – Roemer Insurance is pleased to name Barbara Sears manager of its employee benefits division and Senior Vice President of Wellington F Roemer Insurance, Inc.  In her new role Barbara will provide leadership to Roemer’s tenured staff of employee benefits professionals.

Barbara was the president of the former Noble & Sears, Inc. an employee benefits and investment management firm located in Sylvania, OH. In her role as president she managed the sales and service of individual and group benefit programs working with clients from one to several thousand employees. She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, Northwest Ohio Association of Health Underwriters and HIMSS (Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society) and is past president of the Toledo - Independent Insurance Agents and the Insurance Women of Toledo.

Barbara is also very active in her community and state at the legislative level. In her community she was awarded the Bronze leadership Award from Junior Achievement for her service with the school teaching program, participated in and now instructs for the Toledo Chamber Leadership Academy, and is a past Twenty under Forty awardee. She is involved in her local Rotary Club and several local Chambers of Commerce.

Currently she serves as a State Representative for the 46th House District (Western Lucas County). She was elected by her caucus to serve as the Assistant Floor Leader in 2011 and blends her benefits experience and passion with her legislative work serving on the Finance Committee – Human Services Subcommittee, Health and Aging Committee and Insurance Committee in addition to spending time on healthcare reform and Medicaid reform.
